Artist statement:"It is a cliché that, only when people die, you understand how much they have meant to you. But that is how it is, and maybe it was due to the pandemic, and all the talk about being too far away from family which made her appear more and more often in my mind. She was the one who taught me the names of all the flowers that grew on the farm where we lived. Who took me for a wheelbarrow ride in the moonlight. Who took me out on the ice and who, as we laid looking up at the stars, told me that there could be monsters living under it. The laughter, the free thought and the rigor. Everything at once".
Marit Victoria Wulff Andreassen (1971, Harstad) lives and works in Stavanger. She is educated at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (1999 - 2003) and works with drawing on paper, painting and monumental drawings.
